After watching this quite a few times you have helped me make up my mind on what setup I’m wanting to go with. I have been looking at the Bosen RCX GT Static/Super limbs for a little while, but not really many good reviews out there IMO. Your review was very good. This setup with the Reaper riser looks to be exactly what I’m looking for in a hunting rig. ( Had a few risers in mind but wasn’t sure what one to go with). Are you going to discuss this setup any further?

This would be on a budget of 600 US. I have a 27 inch draw length and I was thinking about an ILF riser recurve or longbow is fine with me. I have been shooting Bear recurves for years but I know there is other bows out there that shooting better and don’t stack as bad as Bear

@@mumurioste790 great riser but in my opinion not fish nor meat. No deflex paired with relexed limp pads is contra productive and the lack of accessory bushings for rests etc take away most of the benefits of having an ilf system. Save on the riser and get a used Titan in 17 or 19 inches, a WF 19 or one of the Bosen risers. Spend money on the limbs! Huge of the Bosen RCS myself, which are their regular carbon/foam recurve limbs, MK Korea machx or zest spray painted are dope for hunting, maybe the best limbs I've shot. Get a eagle flight quiver which dampens the limbs and doesn't mess with your balance of the bow, a nap center rest flipper arm for incredible arrow flight and a Spectra 652 14strand string with well installed cat whiskers for a weather proof and absolutely quiet setup that can do anything for ya.. Btw, thank you for the motivation. I haven't shot my bow in a bit and just got excited!

An update to what i wrote below; I made a mistake it seems in my description; I love the Tormek, it is by far the best I've ever worked with. My criticism is specifically about Tormek's knife jig and the video above. I've had both old and new and now Nic Westermann's jig (link at the bottom + I'm not affiliated in any way with either). Thank you sincerely for your effort in creating this video. Regrettably, Tormek's latest jig still falls short in providing the crucial elements of repeatability and consistency, while also misunderstanding the essence of the hollow grind. Rather than focusing on polishing the hollow (which is a totally useless waste of time, why would you want to polish the hollow?), the primary purpose of the hollow is to create a flat surface on the stone for sharpening and honing the edge. On the Tormek; I’m not talking about HAND SHARPENING Japanese hollow ground chisels …. Furthermore, sharpening against the wheel rotation not only compromises the intended function of the stop-disc in pulling the blade against the Universal Bar but also poses safety risks. Any upward movement caused by the counter-rotating wheel can result in damage to the edge (not to mention our hands). The suggestion of using two machines is counterproductive and inefficient. Instead, why not swap the wheels between coarse and fine grits, keeping the original setup intact? However, the fundamental issues with the jig persist; it will NOT center the knife, it ensures no repeatable set-up, BUT, it ensures unrepeatable setup. For a more comprehensive understanding of these concerns, I recommend referring to the following link, where Nic Westermann addresses these (and much more) points in detail: ua-cam.com/video/pCJWJi62j6Y/v-deo.html AND ua-cam.com/video/sKNPeIZjafg/v-deo.html

I think what you meant was the 21 inch riser and the longer limbs were a no go. Not necessarily the Satori design. I think I’m going to risk it on a set of medium limbs on it and see how I like it. I also hunt with 64 inch bows in the Rockies and Alaska. Never had a problem getting around, and I hunt deep in nasty. Recently I have been using Uukha Gobi mediums on my Satori 21. I just really want an ilf longbow that performs and is consistent. It would be much quieter for cagey animals like Pronghorn. I’ll let you know how they do sir. Thanks again for all your advice!

I just got back into the hobby after a while. I wanted a "take down" before but then learned about ilf and the price with some decent limbs even new seems to be a great start for me. Thanks for video

What I particularly like about this is that A. You didn't trot into your workshop and fire up half a dozen different powertools - you went out there and SWEATED over it. No electricity. B. You didn't order it online - you made it yourself. I have a little teaspoon/eating spoon I made myself. No axe, no saw, no carving knife except my SAK. I used a LOT of sandpaper and I seem to recall I used my teeth at one stage. But I got it done and I think its BEAUTIFUL. So I understand PERFECTLY what you are doing here.

Well about not ripping anybody off... Their Recurve Limbs and logo design and placement is taken from border archery.

That's nonsense. Their recurve limbs are static recurves and have nothing in common with border. I should know. Their logo placement? Where else would you put a logo? Design? How else would you write Bosen? Sorry, I'm the first to flag knockoffs as I am am independent craftsman myself but I got no nerves for fanboy crap. In Sid's opinion Border has invented the air and the sun. I've never heard of Bosen limbs blow up... But Borders are an expensive time bomb. So, no, none of their designs are Border knockoffs and to claim that you'd have to own both, which you for sure don't.

@@woodsmansfinest3814 Quite an emotional response. You seem to really dislike border. I couldn't care less about the Border brand. Just stating the obvious. Stay unbiased ✌🏼

@@theREDC0de bullshit. You made a bold and totally unprompted statement lacking apparently any knowledge about limb design. Border are working recurves, bosen are static limb ends like Siyahs. Don't run around the Internet, claiming shit and then getting your panties in a wad.

@@theREDC0de why would I be unbiased? What am I? The supreme court? I like what I like and use what I use based on having tested and corresponded with a ton of people in the industry.
